Everton Callum brings over 20 years of human resources experience, inclusive of providing business partnerships to leaders in highly technical, global organizations, as well as teaching the subject at the collegiate level. Currently, he serves as the Human Resources Director for the Global Technology organization at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and is based at their corporate headquarters in Akron, Ohio. In this role, he provides HR business partnership to the Chief Technology Officer and the leadership team of the division, as well as leads a team in the provision of HR solutions for the over 1,000 engineers, scientists and technicians within the division, with its key focus on research and development, new ventures and innovation.
Prior to Goodyear, Everton worked at Schneider Electric in West Kingston, Rhode Island in the role of Global Human Resources Director, supporting a client group comprised of Technology & Innovation, Finance and Marketing. He also worked before that at Corning Incorporated, New York, in their Science & Technology Division as HR Manager, Global Research. While at Corning, Everton supported engineers, scientists and technicians in multiple US and Global locations, while also having special responsibilities for training and development with the Science and Technology Division.
Everton started his corporate career in human resources at the Microsoft Corporation at their headquarters in Redmond, Washington , where he first held the position of Diversity Program Manager in the Platforms and Services Division, before moving on to become HR Manager supporting the SharePoint Group within the Office Division.
Prior to becoming an HR Leader in a corporate environment, he was Senior Lecturer in Human Resources Management and International Business Management at Portmore Community College in his native Jamaica.
Everton holds a Master’s degree in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Studies from the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica.
A strong believer in giving back to the community, Everton currently serves as a member of the University of Akron, College of Engineering, Increasing Diversity in Engineering Academics (IDEAs) Advisory Council.
